We know that you care how we use information about you, and we appreciate your trust in us to do that carefully and sensibly. This Notice outlines how we collect and use the personal data of our candidates.

What personal data does Direct Shop collect about you, and how do we use it?
The Direct Shop company you are applying to controls what personal data is collected and how it is used. In some countries, this is referred to as the “controller”.
Generally, the personal data we collect from you helps us manage the recruiting and hiring process with you, conduct Direct Shop’s businesses, and comply with Direct Shop’s legal obligations.
We may collect and use the following categories of personal data about you (some or all may apply to you):
Identification data
Contact information
Demographic data
Data regarding responses to screening questions
Background check information
Previous employment information,
Data about work preferences and abilities
Resume data
Information on certain health conditions (only where required by law)
Job interview notes
Assessment results
Travel-related records

Collecting and using your data enables Direct Shop to administer the recruiting process, including setting up an electronic job applicant HR file; managing your application; conducting assessments; organizing interviews, including arranging or reimbursing for your travel; providing accommodations; processing interview feedback; on-boarding; and conducting background checks and screening. Your data may also be used to notify you about other Direct Shop job opportunities. We may process your personal data to meet recordkeeping and internal and external reporting responsibilities. Your data may also be used in investigations or as needed in legal proceedings.
Where does Direct Shop obtain your personal data?
Much of the personal data we process is obtained from you, but we also obtain personal data about you in the course of the application process (for example, during interviews or via job assessments). Other data types may be obtained from third parties, including, for example, recruitment agencies.
With whom does Direct Shop share your personal data?
Your personal data will only be shared within Direct Shop where lawful to do so and for legitimate purposes. Direct Shop takes appropriate steps to ensure that people who receive your data are bound to maintain the confidentiality of the data.
In addition, we use third parties who provide services, including work agencies, in connection with the application and recruitment process. In providing such services, your personal data may be processed by the service provider on Direct Shop’s behalf to provide the required service to Direct Shop.
We may share your personal data with third parties, who may act as controllers in their own right, in other circumstances, including:
• HR services providers
• Insurance organizations
• Governmental organizations or agencies, including law enforcement
• External advisors (such as legal advisors, accountants)
• Employee benefits providers
Does Direct Shop transfer your personal data to countries outside the country/region in which you apply?
We may transfer your personal data to countries outside the country/region where you work, for example, when we or one of our service providers uses employees or equipment in other countries.
How is your personal data secured?
We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect the confidentiality of your personal data, including security measures to protect against unlawful or unauthorized processing of personal data, and against the accidental loss of, or damage to, your personal data.
How long does Direct Shop store your personal data?
If your employment application is successful and you commence employment with Direct Shop, your personal data may be transferred and processed consistent with Direct Shop’s Global Employee Privacy Notice.
If your employment application is not successful, and depending on local laws, we will generally keep your personal data beyond the end of the application process for the purposes of (i) contacting you for future job vacancies, (ii) to meet recordkeeping requirements, and (iii) for potential use in legal proceedings.
What are my rights under applicable data protection laws?
Depending on the laws of the country/region where you reside, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data. For general questions and queries on privacy and the applicable privacy rights in your country/region, please contact us as outlined under “Questions and queries” below.
AUTOMATED LICENSE PLATE RECOGNITION USAGE AND POLICY
We use Automated License Plate Recognition (ALPR) technology to collect information relating to vehicles present on or near some Direct Shop warehouses and facilities. We use this information to detect, prevent, investigate, report, and address incidents or illegal activities occurring in or around our warehouses and facilities, to maintain security for our employees, vendors, members, and other visitors, and for loss prevention purposes.
Direct Shop restricts access to ALPR technology and ALPR Information to only those Direct Shop personnel with a need-to-know such information for their job requirements. Access is granted to senior management for the warehouse and region where the technology is in use, to our loss prevention and security personnel, and to specific individuals on our procurement team. These personnel receive training in data security and the sensitivity of ALPR Information. Direct Shop’s use of ALPR technology is overseen by Direct Shop Corporate Purchasing and the Director for Warehouse Operations.
ALPR Information is not accessible across warehouses and is stored locally on servers subject to Direct Shop’s access control processes and procedures. ALPR Information is password protected, encrypted in transit and storage, and not used for purposes other than those disclosed in this Privacy Notice. Direct Shop takes reasonable measures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the ALPR information it collects, including maintaining access controls and access logs. When using this information in connection with the investigation of an incident, Direct Shop considers all available information, including information from other systems.
ALPR Information is stored for approximately 180 days before it is permanently deleted, unless we need to retain the information for compliance with applicable law, investigation of specific incidents, upon request of law enforcement, or other valid legal processes.
Direct Shop may disclose ALPR Information when we believe doing so is necessary to:
Protect the rights or property of ourselves or others, including detecting, investigating, and reporting suspicious activities to law enforcement;
Comply with applicable law or respond to legal process requests, including from law enforcement or other government agencies; or
Protect our Direct Shop companies, our property and inventory, our shoppers, members, employees, or the public.
When ALPR Information is necessary for one of the above purposes, Direct Shop uses reasonable safeguards, including encryption, to secure the transfer of ALPR information. Direct Shop does not sell ALPR Information to third parties.
